It’s a great region for food lovers; all the Perigordian specialities such as Foie Gras, truffle, nuts and plums  are central ingredients.

Everywhere are the living signs and suspended ruins of the past:

Bastides, though less bustling than in their medieval heydays are still centres of local country life and offer a multitude of opportunities to taste the local food and wine at their village markets.

In addition to its many castles, the region is also known for the many caves where remnants from prehistoric times have been discovered.

The landscape is also one of traditional agriculture and small scale farming, empty roads through fields of sunflowers and in the evenings, thousands of other stars are often clearly visible.

The Château is set in its own estate and farmland. A recent tree/hedge planting program has been undertaken and land set aside with a spring fed lake being reinstated to encourage bird life.
